AROUND 2006 or 2007 i came across the song "falling slowly" as a nominated act for best song in the oscars. I quickly fell inlove with the song and did everything i could to rewatch all the awards night reruns. But ofcourse, we have internet and so i got the song and the OST. Then, Glen hansard became my #1 male vocalist (well now, he is #2 cause my #1 is andrew mcmahon) i wanted to watch it, but it did not come out in the cinemas. video stores and rentals did not have it too. So i just resorted to reading the summaries and movie reviews plus watching clips from YT. 3-4 YEARS LATER, 2010, I finally got to watch it last night. thanks to the ever so wonderful community ~ PODSICLE. 

This is so surreal cause it had everything i want. music + cursing + unrequited love. The whole movies is almost like a musical of some sort. the actors did not have to talk that much or spit out cheesy lines, everything were in the songs that they sang.
I love the part when the song was "GOLD" and the two mains were just in a motorcycle together and it was playing.
I like the message of the movie, of how they struggle to be musicians. That it is lonely and sometimes unglamorous to dream of becoming a singer. Then at the end, it was clear that THERE ARE THINGS GREATER THAN YOU, GREATER THAN LOVE. They did not end up together, the girl decided to stay home and be with his husband and not go with the guy who will be trying his luck on music in London. all they had were a few days of recording, singing and sharing there lives with each other. YES, they were inlove but it was just a minor thing. they had bigger dreams and more responsibilities. I love the last scene, wherein Marketa (the girl) was sitting by her window and playing the piano while Glen hansard (the guy) was heading to London.. It was just that, they are TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE and strangers to begin with, but music- brought them together.. and in the end, when the music was done and gone they just had to go back to who they were, TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE WHO DONT KNOW EACH OTHER. T_________________T
